The filmmaking.net forums are a free message board service where you can discuss all aspects of the filmmaking process. In order to post messages you must complete a short registration process.

Note that the the filmmaking.net forums use an old code-base which is problematic to integrate with the new site. As such, a seperate registration is currently required to post in our forums. If you have an existing filmmaking.net profile, it's fine to use the same details.

The forums are organised into the following broad topics:

Noob Questions - For young, new, and wanna-be filmmakers.
Equipment Discussion - For discussion/questions/recommendations/reviews of all types of equipment used in the filmmaking process.
Pre-Production - For discussion of everything prior to actually shooting a film, such as screenwriting, budgeting and financing, legal issues, casting, planning, etc.
Production - For discussion of everything that you do on set and the equipment you use, such as cameras, lighting, directing, production management, sets and costumes, locations, sound etc.
Post-Production - For discussion of everything you do once you've shot your film, such as computers, editing, sound post-production, visual effects etc.
Distribution, Marketing, & Exhibition - For discussion on everything you do with the film once you've finished it. Sales and distribition, film marketing, and exhibition issues etc.
Casting Calls - Filmmakers, looking for actors for your next opus? Actors, looking for work and/or show reel pieces? Post all of your casting requirements and offers in this group.
Film Festivals - For the discussion of film festivals and everything associated with them.
News, Promos, Announcements - For you to post your news, annouce your film release, let everyone know of a new site you've found.
Networking & General Discussion - This group is for you to meet other filmmaking.net users, discuss projects, and get to know each other.
Equipment For Sale / Wanted - Are you selling filmmaking equipment? Or looking to buy a specific item? Post your equipment wanted/offered messages here.
Offered - Services/Crew etc - Looking for crew or specific filmmaking services? Post all of your offered ads here. Please note that ads for equipment should be posted in Equipment for Sale group.
